The Cremation Regulations have been amended since 07 May 2026:
Biomechanical aids are now referred to as "battery-powered devices."
The subcategory of "Leadless pacemakers" (only) can be left in situ for cremation (but must be noted).
Exemptions to the requirement to examine the deceased after death (for cremations) now use new Form BA medical certificate.
